The New York Times reports that when Georgetown University was suffering financial woes, those clever Jesuits solved the problem by selling 272 of their slaves (http://tinyurl.com/z4hq87j for about $11,000 (2016 value) each.

Now before you rise up and say that that was 1838 so this is no longer relevant, consider the modern-day equivalent of university-owned slaves, technically known as "graduate students."

("Good news, Smatherfoot, we've sold you for $11,000 to the University of Nebraska, which was looking for quality doctoral students in American History.")

I've wondered on more than one occasion why there aren't more work colleges. Three of the work colleges -- Alice Lloyd, Berea, and Ozarks -- don't charge any tuition, room, or board. If these relatively small schools can make it happen, why can't more schools adopt this model?

    Separate.

Lots of guidance out there on preparing a CV.

Consider, too, a professional service to prepare it.
