Interesting. The Metropolitan Community Churches are a pretty liberal group. So this is likely to not meet the needs of someone seeking a fundamentalist or evangelical approach to theology. But I think it certainly fills a niche. It looks like their offerings include some things from UCC and the Presbyterian Church USA. Apparently they are following a MOOC model. Courses are free (though I found at least one with a $20 registration fee) but some courses have a verified certificate option for $50 such as this Buddhism Through Its Scriptures course through Harvard. EDIT: Upon closer inspection, when I click on the Buddhism course it directs me to edX. So the verified certificate, and the course itself, is actually what is already available through edX.
