Boot Camps Can Be A “Fast Track” To Better Jobs.

Many see coding boot camps as a fast track to better jobs - StarTribune.com

The Minneapolis Star Tribune (1/30, Jackson) reports many people are enrolling in boot camps, accelerated-learning programs that teach students coding and other high-demand technology skills in a few months, as a “fast track to better jobs.” The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that there over half a million IT job vacancies and the number is expected to nearly double by 2024. The article quotes several people who have attended boot camps and got new jobs with higher salaries than they had before by filling these vacancies.

There are also DL, virtual boot-camps as well.
I attended one such a vendor university certification virtual boot-camp to re certify.
In the past the same required travel to vendor location, lodging etc.

    Now fully DL delivered boot-camp.

Back in the 90s, I had a friend who dropped out of college. I went on to complete my undergrad degree and I felt bad that he didn't graduate.

He attended a 2 week bootcamp to become a Novell CNA. Afterwards, he was easily making double what I made, and then he felt bad for me!

Eventually, not having the degree did catch up to him though. He did eventually complete one, which his employer paid for.
