The University of the West Indies, which similarly has to accommodate students in many far flung locations, eventually consolidated their three campus's online programs into a single centrally administered "open campus". I wonder whether UA will do something similar.

I've never been, but I've always wanted to see Alaska. I floated the idea of going to the University of Alaska to my father when I was in high school, but that idea quickly got the kibosh. My second choice (University of Hawaii) didn't gain much traction, either.

I know somebody who went on an Alaskan cruise. They said it was quite fun. Certainly different than the standard Caribbean cruise.

Was it a wedding cruise, by any chance?

I pitched the idea of me applying to/attending university in Europe (I was leaning toward Denmark or Norway). This didn't go particularly well either.

Hmm. I didn't get the photo but, no, not a wedding.

It still amazes me that the guy who played Gopher later spent eight years in Congress.

I see Lorne Green and I think of Battlestar Galactica.

There have certainly been some wild cards in Congress; Al Franken, Heath Shuler, Steve Largent, Sonny Bono, Jim Ryun, Jack Kemp, and as mentioned, Fred Grandy.

You forgot the best one: Ben Jones, the guy who played Cooter on the Dukes of Hazzard, spent four years in Congress. :unitedstates:

    Wow!

That's the new thing that I learned today, I had no idea!
