People go to university--or other forms of tertiary education--for two things: an education and a degree. Universities will have to stay competitive with each. They may struggle with the former, but they have the latter all to themselves. Until this country wishes up and forms a strong NQF, the unis will continue to dominate as the only universally recognized credential structure.
