Ok I just found out I have 5k to spend from work or I lose it. As it sits now I think American Public University is the way to go for me. As a plumber I have no need to have a non profit as I'm never leaving the company I work for. They also have a block credit agreement with Clovis and they will take my whole degree without question. If I ever did want another degree I could always do a second bachelors degree. I need to have the money paid to the school by the first or lose it. I don't even think I can spend it all anyways though. I get another 5k next year.
5k from work and another 5k from pell grant (after filling in fafsa) for first time degree students. you got 10k/year to do your degree.
Don't most employers require that you actually USE education money for actual education? Or did I misunderstand and you do actually plan to enroll in classes?
I have to spend it on education. It has to be RA and related to my job. I am a supervisor so I think a degree in management is decently related. I have read a lot of good things about the school on the forum and I think I'll be able to get the tuition paid before the first. I don't feel like I'm settling in anyway with APUS, they are ranked by US news at #27 and many people on this board have reported great experiences. The other 5k is next years tuition reimbursement. Finding licensed plumbers is very hard in Texas so we get some good benefits.
