    Hi,

Doing an online program means no face-to-face contact with tutors which makes things difficult when it comes to getting letter of recommendations for a PhD application, especially for a non thesis Master. I would be curious to know how students dealt with this issue.

I contacted the department head (met him face-to-face at the graduation) and an instructor I had several classes with when I need an academic recommendation for something post-masters.

I've always emailed a few at a time, so that I didn't use up all my favors at once. I got enough letters each time.

I completed my master's online, but I did so with a traditional university with full-time professors. I was able to get enough letters of recommendation for a traditional PhD program and was accepted.
