Hi everyone I am new here. I am looking to be a december grad and I need 22 ch. I am looking for a school that is work at your own pace that I can take these courses. The courses are gen ed requirments. The hardest to find has been a science with a lab 4ch and a literature. Any help is appreciated and at this point I am willing to travel if it is not online. Thanks in advance!

    What school?

Will credit by exam work, especially the Lit. CLEP comes to mind.

My wife knocked out a few science with lab online from new Mexico Junior college they offer full or half semester options.

I took all my sciences online here: https://www.ocean.edu/content/public.html but there are always a lot of nuances that surround taking online sciences- are you sure you can do that? What's your plan for this degree?

Literature is easy to test out of via CLEP exam.

Does your Ocean County College transcript show or indicate the course was taken online ?

I'm looking at their Bio online, and the course code under the search shows "BIOL-114-DL1"

I wonder if that shows up on the transcript itself ?

Oh and how do they test for exams ? ProctorU ?

its nassau community college....they except some clep but i was looking at testing last option since youd have to wait 6 months to re-test. I was hoping for some work at your own pace stuff, winterm courses, or something along those lines. They dont except the clep literature. To finish I need comp 2, literature, 1 soc science or anthropology, 1 humanities, science with a lab. fine and performing arts and 1 elective course. My biggest problem will be cost. They accepted aleks math but are kinda iffy on the others like pen foster, straighterline and etc. They accept ace though and its really confusing and I can't find anyone advisor to help me for sure. They list the clep and dsst they take and that would help on a lot but again what if I can't pass it. The list the clep and dsst they accept on the website and their are a few I could use but they dont have english and finding someone there to help me has proven almost impossible.

I have my transcript in front of me, and DL is omitted from the alphanumerics. DL1 in your example is the online section and not part of the transcript.
I took mine in fall 09, so it's best to ask them about testing and proctoring. When I enrolled, they were new players, but they've been around the block a few times and I imagine it's a little more supervised.

My distance learning labs were involved and expensive and hard.
The science courses were normal in terms of workload.

My hubby went to Nassau CC :) He's from Valley Stream - small world.

Your advisor probably doesn't know half of the stuff you're asking. They'd have to have a lot of experience in alternative credit, and fact is that most don't. I didn't, and I did advising for 4 years before becoming a faculty member- and when I'd first heard about CLEP I think I had about 10 years college employment under my belt. Seriously.

CLEP exams are worth trying. They are multiple choice exams, you have to study for them, but the material is readily available. Dollar for dollar, you can't beat it. I used CLEP to test out of my entire AA degree.
