Nigerian Gov't agency "abandons" Nigerian students in Canada

    Hey, do you think that would work for me? I could tell my mortgage company "sorry guys, I'm not gonna pay my mortgage because of the drop in oil prices (or maybe sweetpoints).

    As I'm sure you are aware, Kizmet, they (mortgage co.) could then legally proceed to take your house, or at least threaten to, if they chose. Neither these students nor the Canadian universities that are owed money can confiscate (or threaten to confiscate) anything belonging to the Rivers State Government (Nigeria) or the agency it owns. Both sides are aware of that, too, I'm certain.

    A shameful situation.

    One of the problems with being a pawn is that they are often sacrificed.
