Just realized from my previous course work 8 years ago, i completed 24 credits but I failed 2 modules (elective classes - nothing to do with my major). My GPA then was 2.47.

I transferred all of those credits into ASU and continued towards my degree program. After 70 credits at ASU, my GPA in ASU is a 3.8. I'm in my last year before graduation (Software Engineering major) and now I'm thinking, should I do back to my old community college and re-do the 2 modules I failed ? They offer a grade replacement.

I do want to apply into graduate school (Computer Science). I don't know if those 2 failed grades that long ago will come back to haunt me (?) i'm sure graduate school will do a recalculation of all my modules...

Pros of re-doing is a better cGPA if I can pass those 2 modules.

Cons of re-doing, i'd have to spend an extra term and $$ to take them.

Sounds like a time to reflect and look at the long run. I suspect, then, this will not matter.

    Move on.

I wouldn't bother. You can always retake the classes later if you don't get into grad school, but my guess is that it won't make much of a difference. It would likely be a big waste of time and money.

I'm another vote for not bothering. Your record was good enough for ASU and your record there is far superior to the one at your old school.

I was attending school when I got my deployment orders, and I either forgot to withdraw from one course, or the paperwork got lost (I didn't have time to find out or care), and I ended up with an F (ironically American Government, which I CLEP'ed out of later).

School policy at the time was that you had to have the instructor's permission to mitigate an F grade, and he refused (not a fan of the military). I just let it go, and while my GPA suffered slightly, it's never proven to be a setback of any kind.

So, yes, I concur with the majority and say let it go.

I would say let it go, and move on. Here is my experience with Troy University. I had two F's due to deployment and field exercises, and it was too late to drop the courses. Troy University allowed me to replace the two courses with new grade, but that two F's are still in my official transcript. However, those two F's do not count toward my GPA.

In your case with 3.8, and more likely you don't have CC GPA on your Bachelor degree at ASU. Just move on, if you want go to top school for Master of Science in Computer Science, then you need to do well in GRE exam.

What a jerk! I mean, I think the U.S. military is far too large and far too meddlesome in world affairs, but I would never punish an individual servicemember because of that opinion.
