I'd imagine that in academic settings, a graduate certificate (one earned through a block of graduate level courses) might have some value. Does that translate into the professional world?

Is there a significant difference between completing a graduate certificate compared to completing a bunch of graduate level courses, but no certificate/degree?

I think it depends on what you're looking to do; are you looking to enhance your business credentials, or to branch out to another field?

I know a woman who earned a 30 credit Masters in Counseling degree. It's enough for a Masters but not enough for a license to practice. She then earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study and that put her over the top and got her a license to practice. So in her case, a grad cert made a huge difference.
