I guess every school is easy in AK, DE, NV and WY

Yeah. The article said there were insufficient data for those states.

One of the commentators said something to the effect that there were night clubs in Nevada that were harder to get into than any college in the state. Lol.

It's interesting that some are state schools.

I won't have any heartburn with my kids going to UNLV or UNR if we are still living in Nevada when it is college time for them.

Not that it's Harvard of the Midwest, but I was surprised that the University of North Dakota didn't top the list in that state, with Minot State University taking the title.

Minot State surprised me too Bruce. My interactions with them about their MS in Info Systems led me to believe they'd let in anyone with a BA/BS, a pulse, and ability to pay.

I am in SD and I was wondering which school would be hard. AS they are all easy to get into.

What did not make the list was School of Mines which is an engineering school.

DE Uni/Colleges have open admission policies. Getting in is one thing; staying in is an other.

There's only one school in Wyoming that offers bachelors degrees and above, the U. of Wyoming. So it would simultaneously be both the hardest and easiest schools in the state to get into.

There is a website, perhaps you know it, called niche.com and it is a college rankings website. They have colleges ranked in all sorts of ways. Interesting in its own way. One of the rankings is "Hardest to get in" and it's a national list, not by state. Down at #14, the 14th hardest college to get into in the country, is a college that I'll bet you've never heard of before.

C'mon, Kiz. Do you really really think that Columbia University is a school people have never heard of before?

Sorry Ted but you're either looking at the wrong list or you need to try counting to 14 again.

Hmm. I'm pretty sure that the list I looked at said Columbia was #14. Wonder which list that was. In the new lin k's list, Columbia is now #4 and #14 is a Franklin Olin College of Engineering (I think). Now I've actually heard of this little engineering college before. It was one of the schools on a list of highest starting salaries for new college graduates. Well, yah, they're an engineering school so their average starting salary isn't going to be dragged down by history majors, English majors, and philosophy majors with fries with that jobs.
