Hi everyone, I am a petroleum accountant and I work closely with lawyers and I have to review a lot contracts/documents. Do you think it would be beneficial to have some type of law certificate to add to my resume? For example, would a paralegal certificate be any value? I seem them all over online for around $700 to be considered a professional paralegal. Or are there any other online law certificates for around the same price that might bring value? Thanks!
One thing that's not clear to me . . . are you looking to gain knowledge that will make you more proficient at work or are you looking to add cert to your resume that will look good and may (or my not) be useful? If the former there are certainly single courses you can take to fill in any specialized gaps you might have, if the latter there are plenty of certs you can get to enhanced your brand. A paralegal credential would probably look good but I'd guess that much of what you'd learn would be irrelevant to your specific job.
maybe something like this? https://www.villanovau.com/lp/contract-mgmt/career/cert_programs_professionals_all_levels_1409/?MCGUID={ACABDE4F-C657-4B93-AC9E-1A4BF58501CB}&mcid=3175&WT.srch=1&mkwid=sGQ0nxgeS_dc&pcrid=76961447044&pmt=b&pkw=contract%20certification%20courses&gclid=CJfX1aP84McCFUQvgQodtdYB9A
Hey good find Kizmet! To the OP you'll be wasting your time/money getting a paralegal certificate. You will not get into the nuances of contracts.
