I am kindly asking for some assistance and would greatly appreciate it. Which regionally accredited institution offers the cheapest online Master Public Policy degree? I do not care if the institution is for-profit or non-profit. All I care about is regional accreditation. From my research, I think the cheapest institution for that particular degree is American Public University (350 per credit hour). Please let me know if I am mistaken. Thank you and please take care.

Yeah I was hoping for different information for people who did not see that particular thread. Thank you for the information.

Are you interested in a Master of Public Policy (MPP), Master of Public Administration (MPA), or does it matter?

Not arguing that point Ted, as I didn't know; nonetheless, I've never personally been enrolled in a 30-hour graduate program at all. They have been a 36-hour minimum. West Texas A & M's MBA was a 37-hour curriculum (e.g., 36-hours plus a 1-hour portfolio course addition).

Before transferring to WTAMU; I was enrolled in the Tarleton State MBA program; it was/is too a 36-hour curriculum with a comprehensive exam culmination. As well, my MEd /EdM was also a 36-hour curriculum, and that was completed some time back.

My CJ Master's was 33 semester credits, and I don't feel as though I missed anything important compared to 36-credit programs.

In that such is not an issue for you (e.g., 30-, 33-, 36-hours, etc.); it’s definitely not for me either. I’m not intending a getting into a tit for tat /my degree is bigger than yours is approach. Perhaps the 36-hour requisites are just more a traditional Texas academia requirement (?). Or, maybe simply being Texas institutions necessitates further coursework (?). Who knows or really cares…

Note 1: Just for the sake of interest and comparison, I checked the graduate criminal justice degree requirements from my former campuses’ MCJ /MA and they all require a 36-hour program of study with the exception that Tarleton State does offer both a 30- and 36-hour option.

Note 2: Prairie View A & M does not offer a MCJ degree, only the MS in juvenile justice (MSJJ) and the MS in Juvenile Forensic Psychology (MSJFP): the MCJ a 36-hour program and the MSJFP being a 45-credit hour program plus a minimum of 450 hours of field work training.

When I graduated college in 1984, all of the grad schols I applied to were 30 hours regardless of whether it was a thesis master's or non-thesis master's. The first time I became aware of any 36 hour master's degrees were when I first looked into American Military University's master's programs, and that was in the early 1990s.

Ted back in the Winter 1996 semester, I took a DL course (very few RA available options back then), e.g., MC 511 Managerial Communication and Research Methods via your alumnus campus City University of Seattle (then just City University-Bellevue, WA). I do believe their MBA was a 36-semester hour program (12-courses) even then. Fast forward, checking the university’s current website … the MBA is a 48 qtr. hr. program (12-courses).

When I was at City University, the MBA in Entrepreneurship was 49 quarter hours and the MBA in Marketing was 46 quarter hours (and, for a second MBA the 34 hour Management Core classes could be re-used, leaving only the 12 hours of the major to be completed).

My Forensic Psychology program was 62 semester credits, with 1,000 hours of supervised clinical work.

    So there.

Most Master of Divinity programs require the completion of at least 90 credit hours.
