I've been a huge fan of Alison for YEARS. These guys are not quite what Khan is, but they group subjects together to create diplomas and certs, hoping that you'll pay for the parchment. In fact, my 9th grader's Graphic Design class (diploma program) is through Alison this school year.

Alison was last mentioned here quite some time ago. Back then, I was hopeful about what they offered, but very disappointed in what I found. If they have stepped up their game, then good for them! :fing02: I might have to give them a second shot.

I went into their "Programming" section.

They have a Diploma in C Programming. So, I guess I could sign up and potentially get my dream job in 1995.

I saw they have a Python course (which I enjoy dabbling) but it's actually a Khan Academy course so I could actually just cut out the middle man.

But as I delve deeper into other subjects I start to get a feel for what they're going for and I find myself appreciating it more and more.

Diploma in Statistics? Could be interesting.

So it's a book that I almost judged rather harshly by its cover. The more I look at it, though, the more I can see some utility in it. Let's face it, a lot of people would buy Khan Academy certificates. And even more of us would happily proclaim to the world that we just mastered 7th grade mathematics if we could print out a Khan Academy certificate. This seems like a pretty interesting way to do that with some providers who don't necessarily provide you proof of completion.
