Just got off the phone with admissions at Thomas Edison State College, and…

I was told that, while it COULD be possible, he (admissions director) had never known of anyone completing a B.A. Major exclusively through portfolio Assessment. I gave an example of transferring in with an A.A. degree (General Studies and part of the 2+2 program in my state), and satisfying the Major area of study through portfolio assessment.

Has anyone here known of such a feat?

    Your input is appreciated.

Yes. There was a graduate publicied a few years ago by TESC that did his entire degree by portfolio assessment. He was an older man, obviously with many years of experience that could be translated into portfolio credit.

FWIW, I did my TESC B.A. with 98 credits by portfolio, 16 credits by testing out, and carried in only six transfer credits.

    Thank You!

    Levicoff,

Thank you for response and insight.

How long did it take you to complete your B.A. at TESC?

Has anyone else here at degreeinfo.com completed a degree at TESC and would like to share their experince with the portfolio option?

    Re: Thank You!

1 yr. 10 mo. from soup to nuts (matriculation date to graduation date), but only 1 yr. 6 mo. for the actual work.
