I have 54 credits according to the academic evaluation from TESC. They are the result of Straighterline, ALEKS, CLEP and DSST. I have not taken any course at TESC yet.

I would appreciate assistance. I am stuck. I don't know what courses to take to finish this. My original plan was to get a Sociology degree but because of some recent events in my work life, I don't care what degree I earn, I just need one as soon as soon as possible.

The break down per TESC is as follows:

    Mat-115 Intermediate Algebra 3
    COS-101 Intro to Computers 3
    ENG-201 Technical Writing 3
AOJ-102 Intro to Criminal Justice 3
BIO-208 The Science of Nutrition 3
    ECO-111 Macroeconomics 3
    ENC-101 English Composition I 3
    ENC-102 English Composition II 3
    HUM-101 Intro Hum I Philos Thought 3
HUM-102 Intro Hum II Poet Drama Nar 3
    SOS-101 Social Sciences and History I 3
SOS-102 Social Sciences and History II 3
    HIS-113 American History I 3
    HIS-102 Western Civilization II 3
    PHI-101 Intro To Philosophy 3
    HIS-101 Western Civilization I 3
    SOC-101 Intro to Sociology 3
    REL-405 World Religions 3

I haven't enrolled at TESC as I was planning to do pay per credit (I think its called). I know there are many experienced folks on here that can give me some specific plan as to what I need to do to finish. Thank you in advance. This has been keeping me up nights.

You need to actually talk to a school about what is needed.

TESC is notorious for poor customer service, you will have to talk to them eventually, but the path to their degree's are pretty well mapped out.

Here is the degree path for their BA/Sociology, they list pretty much every class Thomas Edison State College: Sociology

Here is how they apply CLEP and DSST DANTES CLEP - College-Level Exam Program

I can't recall how many upper level courses TESC requires for this degree, but it's between 18 and 30, I don't know where those will come from via credit by exam. This is one of Sanantone's degree wiki's it is social science Sanantone's BA in Social Science - Degree Forum Wiki

The TECEP plan will reduce your cost's, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to explain it. Basically take 8 TECEP's and qualify for in state rates, coupled with CBE the overall cost drops dramatically.

The "other forum" pretty much specializes in designing these undergrad degree plans at the big 3, you might ask your question over there.

    Best,

I second the suggestion to post this in the "other" forum- there is an entire folder and wiki page dedicated to making TESC degree plans.

My suggestion would be for you to obtain your AA (60 units) from TESC since they have apparently reviewed your credits.
This gives you solid documentation should you be looking for a job or promotion.

I would then checkout the COSC BS degree in general studies (various options including half professional and half liberal studies courses)
Liberal Studies - Charter Oak State College Catalog
Unless of course you are looking for a specific major.

And there are several DSST exams that some colleges accept for upper division credit.

These exams should reduce your overall degree cost.
