    TEKMAN Semper Fi!

Will be the second online US law school with regional accreditation after Concord Law School of Kaplan University. I am wondering if they are going to jack up the tuition and fees

I was thinking of the exact same thing. It will be interesting indeed to see if and when they do raise tuition.

    Wow. 'SCUPS' finally does it.

Many moons ago, Northcentral University was created specifically in reaction to SCUPS not getting anywhere with its accreditation efforts. During that period, there was quite a bit of consternation over the operation of SCUPS. Since then, we've seen its re-branding, reformation, subsequent accreditation by DEAC, and now this.

Having no visibility into their operations, I wonder what, if any, affect Northcentral had on this decision. I also wonder if there will be some sort of merger of the two now that they operate in the same stratum.

On another note, one of my previous observations about DEAC accreditation was that--at one time--no schools were making the leap from DEAC to RA. Then AMU did it, kind of breaking the ice. It now seems more likely other schools will continue this trend. That speaks well of both the RAs (for opening up a bit) and the quality of DEAC-accredited schools. I come from a time when nontraditional schools would struggle to get any form of institutional accreditation. Those days are long gone. I miss them, but only nostalgically. This is much, much better.

Good ol' SCUPS. Ya done good.

    Will they drop DEAC accreditation?
I'm also interested to see how will they treat applicants with NA degrees, especially DETC / DEAC accredited degrees.

Yes, tuition will incrementally skyrocket. However, their website says that their tuition can be locked into degree programs:

If this is true, then it's a wise time to lock-in tuition rates for a degree that someone is interested in (now that they have RA status).

Who said you cannot do an internship? Hundreds and hundreds of psychologists have who graduated from Regionally Accredited non APA PhD/PsyD programs. You just won't likely get an APA accredited internship. APA accredited doctorates and internships open more doors and more competitive positions.

Contacy local clinics and inquire about the prospect of an internship.

The DBA program price will increase 25% in 2016 ($395/credit to $495/credit). Still pretty cheap though. You can lock in tuition if you get enrolled before 1/1/2016.

okay, okay, but tuition skyrocketing is to be expected when a school gets a new or newer orb more prestigious accreditation.

Actually, you could do an internship even though you will have a non-APA degree. Granted, it could be difficult trying to get one of those big prestigious APA internships. But it could be done. If all you could get was a nion APA internshiop, you might still be able to write the state licwensure exam and practice somewhere. Although it might be one of the less prestigious lesser-paying jobs. But it could be done. and, oh, by the way, someone on this board, like I think it might be Kiz, said, not all 50 states require an APA DEGREE/INTERNSHIP. sO, maybe this could still be useful. But if you absolutely need an APA degree/internship, there's always Fielkding ... at least i think they still apa.
