I mean, thank you for feedback about...

TESC transfer credits. Thank you for responding to my question about transfer credits from TESC.

Alumni, how long did it take you to graduate from TESC and how many credits did you take/challange (portfolio)?

    How many?

I have an AA and need 60 credit hours. I have a vast knowledge of the major and many textbooks, letters of verification, and certificates to validate said knowledge. I am looking at going the portfolio route.

    Thank you.

Just over a year of work; three credits by portfolio, six by "in-seat" classes at local colleges, 15 by testing (CLEP and ECE) and six from the required BSHS practicum. I transferred in roughly 100 credits from prior work at B&M schools.

If you're relying heavily on Portfolio Assessment, try to submit the portfolios early in your enrollment year. If any are rejected, you'll potentially have enough time to repair the damage by another route-- testing, an alternate class, re-submission, et cetera-- before your anniversary (and an expensive reminder from the Bursar's Office) comes around.

Good Morning, I suggest you immediately start the FEMA EMI courses if you have decided to go with TESC.. This can take a nice chunk of credits away from the BA number and be credited to the free elective area. My husband started his second degree in December just in the FEMA credit area. He did not register at TESC until Feb.2002. He just received confirmation that he was done several days ago. This degree required 30 new credits. Check for books in the library that list vocational colleges with courses. There is a college course for everything. Have a great day. Good luck with your quest. Hille

  7. Hi, Hille..

On a related note: Did TESC accept the EMI courses "direct," or did you have to transcript them through the local community college (FCC?)

    FEMA EMI courses

Hello, EMI courses are accepted directly without the cost of an additional conversion to credit. Transcripts take less then one week from request to arrival at TESC. Since my husband Bob used over 20 of these it was an incredible credit boost in the free elective area. I don't know how long these will be available as free to the public so I would urge anyone who is thinking about taking them to get going..I don't have any information, just a suggestion. When you factor the cost of them into the TESC tuition it makes TESC a better buy..There are an additional 6 or 7 that have to be converted. I believe there are a total of 28 courses that FEMA offers. The six or seven that haven't been reviewed by TESC can be converted at FCC. Time frame for transcript arrival from FCC 5-7 weeks. Degree if difficulty varies. Several courses are on video and CD. Hille
