Call for help: has anyone gotten a diploma mill spam pitch in the past week?

An investigator who is looking into the Harrington-Palmers Green-Shelborne-Parkwood (etc.) fraud tells me that his regular correspondents, who respond to their pitch ["UNIVERSITY DIPLOMAS! Obtain a prosperous future, money earning power, and the admiration of all!"] have not been phoned back for more than a week. This apparently is unusual.

And so he has asked me to ask here if anyone has received this spam message during June? If so, it would be much appreciated if you could forward me the phone number in the notice.

    Thanks very much.

No, not in June. However, I have received the one that you described many times over the last year.

The one I received states, "That's right, you can become a doctor, lawyer or accountant and receive all the benefits and admiration that comes with it."

    "No one is turned down."

The solicitation has been forwarded to Dr. Bear.

    Mayes,

You didn't post the phone number. Why are you denying us the opportunity to get "the admiration of all" through one of their degrees?

    :( ;)

My daughter is 10 and no I don't let her open her hotmail e-mail by herself. The porn spam is a bit much.

My bought and paid for e-mail account doesn't seem to attract much spam.

I bet “Register Now and Graduate Today!” would qualify. I will forward the message.

Have received two in my paid e-mail account within the last 24 hours, and forwarded on to Dr. Bear.

(I forgot to add that both e-mails used the same phone number for contact information, although they came from 'different' senders.)

I get tons of spam in there - wish I knew how to stop it!

Many thanks to all. I got about 30 forwarded to me, and have sent them on to the man who wasn't sure if the absolute lack of return phone calls to the various names and numbers he leave them reflected either (a) that they were no longer in business or (b) so busy they just didn't get to him yet.

Sadly, it would seem to be the latter.

    Spam

Do multiple emails monthly from Barrington University count?
What is the scoop on them anyway?

  17. Re: Spam

Well, Barrington has no connection with the "prestigious degrees from unaccredited [and un-named in the email] universities" email spam so far as I know.

It appeared with a Des Moines address for a while. When Iowa began making some noise about toughening school registration laws (and actually did), Barrington suddenly had an Alabama address.
