I have spent a lot of time reading some of the discussions concering RA accreditations and national accreditations. I have completed my undergrad with NSU and the program did help to advance my career. I was considering persuing my MBA via distance learning with them. It so happens that University of Miami offers an off-campus MBA which is aacsb accredited, but at twice the price. Does the reputation of U of M warrant the hefty price tag. marley AA Bsc
Marley - I'm a NSU grad (DBA), but I'd suggest you look around for programs other than NSU's for an MBA. Why? While NSU's MBA is a fairly typical DL option, I think you may benefit from earning a degree from a different institution. I'd certainly consider U of Miami as an on-ground alternative. The interaction of an on-ground program is a real plus. Further, as an AACSB school, it is likely to be more rigorous. I'd look for other part-time, AACSB (or ACBSP) schools in the area. I'd also consider AACSB (or at least ACBSP) accredited MBA from places like Indiana that operate via DL. I see lots of folks that earn both a bachelor's and master's degree (some even a doctorate) from the same institution. I don't recommend the practice. Go elsewhere - see the world from a different vantage point. Thanks - Andy
Andy, you are Right.... As a matter of fact, this is one of the reasons why I decided to attend Argosy instead of NSU for my DBA program. I heard it does make a difference when one is applying for a tenure track position.
New York Institute of Technology What do you think of New York Institute of Technology's MBA program in Ft. Lauderdeale, FL?
Re: Re: mba nsu Andy, I concur with your recommendation. It is good for students to spread their wings. John
Re: Re: mba nsu I agree wholeheartedly with Andy. Particularly if you will end up having all of the same professors again. I did my BA and MA at the same school and in the same department only because there were no other options available for me at the time. Since then there are several good DL options available. I think I would have done it differently had those programs been available then. Tom Nixon
