Hello this fall I am graduating with my masters in criminal justice. I was wondering if there are any schools that have a generous credit transfer program that will accept masters credits to be counted towards a PHD,DBA,DPA,Ed.D, or any doctoral program. I am seeking more so a concentration in Human Resources, Criminal Justice, Business, or Leadership. If possible I would like the school to be RA. If possible also I was looking for an in person PHD program, I don't mind moving or dorming. I have never tried the whole online schooling as all three of my degrees have been done brick and mortar. I am open to trying it if anyone can give me some feedback on their experiences tho.

Some of the schools and programs I've been looking into are:
    The University of the Cumblerlands
    Valdosta State University
    Capella University

(Numbers may vary from school to school but in general . . .)

Doctoral programs are maybe 90 credits beyond the Bachelors. If you get a 36 credit Masters that means at best you'll have only 54 credits left. However, if you're entering a Business PhD program with a CJ Masters it's unlikely all your credits will be accepted because, after all, they're not really relevant. Because this is a distance learning discussion board we don't spend much time talking about B&M programs. My own opinion is that you haven't sufficiently narrowed down your areas of interest. I'd recommend that you think more about the kind of job/career you'd like to have and then use that insight to help you choose the program that is most likely to get you there. Beyond that I'd suggest that you take some time to read through some of our discussion threads because there have been many discussions on the degrees/programs that you seem to be considering.

I am pretty open to suggestions. I was looking at different career paths but my studies all the way up to masters have been criminal justice. I would like to get a Doctoral degree in leadership, Criminal Justice, Business (like a security, criminal justice, human resources concentration), or Education. Any of these fields I would love to explore and I have a passion for them all but I am looking for programs that would accept masters courses like the University of the Cumberlands will take 18 credits of graduate course work and count them towards there Ed.D or PHD in Leadership program if I am not mistaken? I am looking for the best options to apply for?

Kizmet's answer is right on. I'll take it a step further. Although no longer relevant for you, a great many schools offer a combined Master's-Doctoral program. As my wife did it (at Vanderbilt), they admitted her to the Ph.D. program in philosophy. When she passed her four qualifying exams, they awarded her the M.A. and she was advanced to candidacy. If she hadn't finished, she would have left with the M.A. as a consolation prize. (She did finish, however.)
