    Hello Everyone,

I'm fairly new to this forum but have searched for threads but want to know specifically if anyone has experience with either MSPM at Northeastern or University of Wisconsin-Plateville Masters of Science in Project Management online degree; and if so, what are your thoughts?

I've applied to U Wisconsin, and am awaiting to hear back. I haven't applied to Northeastern yet - main reason is the 45-47 credits vs. the 30-36 required by Platteville.

    Here are some background:
    • I want to finish the MSPM within 2 years or less
    • Work will pay for up to $12,200 per year (Wisconsin is about $19k total, Northeastern $26k total)
    • I would prefer classes with less team projects. I understand the value of team work, it's just a preference.

I read from the forum the Northeastern classes can be 6 weeks long, that's a huge plus. And it's accredited by AACSB.

I'm not sure how long classes are at Platteville, and it's accredited regionally I believe. Even though, the website states the MSPM program is globally recognized.

Any thoughts, feedback, or advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Yes, it's definitely regionally accredited.

They say it's global recognized because the program has been validated by PMI (the Project Management Institute) the group providing the PMP credential.

UW–Platteville uses semester hours, whereas Northeastern University College of Professional Studies uses quarter hours. 1 semester hour = 1.5 quarter hours. Therefore, Northeastern requires (45 to 47) / 1.5 = 30 to 33.3 semester hour equivalents – actually, technically, less credit than Platteville requires.

Thanks for your responses and clarification, Jonathan and novadar. I am going to apply to Northeastern too, primarily bc the classes are 6 or 10 weeks, which is great bc I will need to take time off for work trips and vacation.

I am actually thinking of pursuing the PM certificate first, just to test the water, and continue with the MS if it's not too much.
