Hi, What's the range of costs for accredited online BBA programs? Would this be my best choice in terms of a start point for a career change from teaching the sciences? Having an analytic mindset and proficiency in math are the strengths served the purpose well.
Can go as cheap as under 10k from the big 3 (Read testing out option), or as high as $60k from some private Unis. Most public Unis charge $300 ~ $500 per credit hour. See IU, ASU, UF, CUNY, Penn State etc etc. I'm assuming you have a first degree in education ? Why not consider an online MBA
Can you post the specific link for the under10k big 3 online BBA programs? or any of the others that can be useful in terms of a comparison. The initial degree is a BS in Chemistry from an university in India(overseas) and have been teaching there for 7yrs(grades 7-10) and then as a class teacher in primary school for 9 years(grades 3-6). Currently enrolled in an online BBA that's 70k in total. Did just read of a suggestion similar to yours about the MBA option. An overseas stateside accreditation biz gave a 3yr assessment for the indian 3yr program that was done(though one goes for a Masters in India after the 3yr program). So needed 1yr for coming on par with programs here.
Could you expand on what you mean by career change? And at what level do you teach science (high school, cc, or what)? This info may get you better answers to you question.
Changing my focus after getting a BS in Chemistry in India and having taught sciences (in highschool and having been a class teacher for primary grades) in the english medium overseas for awhile. I have also been interested in the administrative side of the business world too. Having used the gift of an analytic mindset well(sciences for highschool) and crunched numbers having taught math was hoping to change my focus in a sensible way.
Wow, Currently enrolled in a 70k online BBA program and was wondering if that was the norm or not. Now I know the spread thank so much. Tried the links and got a whole lot of names of places. Can I get specifics on the 10k programs and up?
what color is your parachute Wow - a degree in chemistry sould give you better earnings and job options than a BBA (of course there are always exceptions). Have you looked at jobs in industry or government - you could then figure out what future academic degree would help you move forward in your career. One area in the USA that rewards people with chemistry degree is water related (drinking water and/or reclamation); water will become more important with population growth and climate change.
