What is the cheapest humanities or liberal studies master's degree? Also, are there any that require no more than 30 semester hours?
So that pins Fort Hays at $251 per credit. CSUDH sits at $266 per credit. I think Western Governors asks $2,900. per semester (as many credit as you can eat) so you'd have to take 12 credits to beat Fort Hays' price. Give or take a few dollars, I think that's the bargain basement price.
I like the Fort Hays State master's in liberal studies, literary arts. Which degree would have the greater utility, especially for online teaching -- FHSU's master's in liberal studies, with literary arts concentration or an MFA in creative writing?
(1) Look into these program carefully. For example, WGU has limitations on the financial aid it will offer; it's part of a new pilot program. (2) For teaching writing the MFA is always the better degree because it is considered a terminal degree. Besides, having a full degree vs the credits is always viewed as superior.
