    Hello,

I am applying to various grad schools and need to complete at least 2 courses self paced.
(5 is preferred/ needed by December, but at least 2 are needed to be done asap)
    -Intro to Psych
    -Statistics

Anyways, I am wondering what schools do you go to for their cheapest classes. I have considered Community College classes however I need something a little quicker paced.

I currently live in CA so I heard that Clovis CC is a cheap school, but I believe they work operate on the semester schedule. I have also considered the University of Idaho Independent study, which lists their price as 100 per credit/ 50 per class registration. I find this a little too good to be true and will call tomorrow.

I might just go along with BYU if I don't find anything

Are there any courses you guys recommend?

Awesome, Thank you for your input!

I have looked into the CLEP and DSST exams considering the availability of sites like straightliner and sophia, but since I am applying to quite a few grad schools that need pre-reqs, I may just stick with a basic course that assigns a letter grade. I feel like CLEP and DSST seems a little confusing.

What school are you at and what sort of program are you applying to?

A few clep on a transcript isn't much to anyone....and with it being gen eds like sociology and stats I can't see it being a problem except in the most exclusive of settings.

credit by exam is straightforward. study, pay th efee, take the exam, pass, credit....simple. You're right to make sure it will be accepted however. Know that CLEP is provided through the college board, same folks that bring you AP exams and the SAT, they are a consortium of 2500 colleges around the country and are certainly legitimate.

Ah! That is actually pretty cool.
I have been applying to quite a few PsyD, MA, and MS in psychology. These programs want to see differing courses on my transcript. Does the exam award you a grade or is it just pass/fail?
I noticed that some of the colleges state they want a "B" or higher within the class in order for it to be worth anything. Not sure is this makes a difference.

Again, it just depends on the college involved. I would probably justy try to take what you need at U of Idaho, cheap, quick, accredited, then move on. Be aware, a few of these courses are pass fail...know what your getting into.
