Ive been considering pursuing a PHD at Walden University in forensic psychology specialization, the program itself is not a licensing program.

If I got this degree would I still be able to get licensed in CA? I'am not planning on pursuing a career in forensic psychology but wish to bolster a career in law enforcement. Iam interested in a license due to wanting to be official and maybe get side work in the field.

So basically is getting this degree from Walden worth it? (I need a online option due to my work)

    Thanks!

The definitive answer to this is to be found at the California Board of Licensure. In matters of such importance I would trust no one beyond the final authority.

This video is directly from the California government and goes over the licensure requirements.

I didn't watch the video, but I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be no. There is no internship attached to the forensic psychology program, and the curriculum doesn't cover courses required by California. You can possibly accrue internship hours after graduating, but that still leaves the program lacking in other areas. This is their latest booklet that goes over laws and regulations.
