You forgot a few, let me help:

    1. No entrance exam. These exams are an annoyance at best, right? :fing02:
    2. No comprehensive exam, again these are annoying.
    3. Dissertation should be no longer than 25 double-spaced pages.
    4. No bibliography, no MLA or APA format. Again, who writes in these formats anyway?
    5. Dissertation should be written, preferably, using emoticons and using texting shorthand. (That way the younger generation can read and understand the dissertation)
    6. Should cost between $1,500 - $3,000 USD.
    7. Regionally accredited and non-profit with a kick-ass football team.
    8. Why 1-2-3 years? Shoot for the stars, complete one in 6 MONTHS!!!!!!:dance:
    9. Graduation ceremony must be offered at a nice venue and city. Oh, and they should hand out candy and all sorts of goodies with your diploma. By golly if I'm paying top money I should get something in return, right? :grumpy:
    10. Must have hot professors.
    11. No adjuncts.
    12. All professors should be leaders in their field of study and should hold PhD's or terminal degrees from top universities.
    13. No professors from such shady places as: Capella, Phoenix, NCU, Grand Canyon, Walden, Keiser, Devry, and so on.
    14. Diploma should come with a choice of either a puppy or a kitten.

I think that's about it. Yes, this sounds about right. We will get back to you shortly with a myriad of options for you to choose from. :fing02::fing02:

Hi Alex - I'm sorry if we seem to be piling on but it's because we get this question a lot and because your goals are pretty unrealistic. The first piece, completing the program in 2-3 years is by itself a bit unrealistic for the following reasons. Most people on this board are working professional trying to earn degrees to advance their careers or enhance their lives in some way. They can not work at any degree program on a full-time basis because they need to work to pay the bills. With this as a starting point most doctoral programs can be completed in 4-6 years, depending on the school, the advisor, how many hours per week you can devote to your academics, how prepared you are to dive into a dissertation, etc. Many doctoral programs require some coursework beyond the Masters level and you'd be doing well to finish just that in 2 years. Many people hit the wall with the dissertation phase and wind up ABD for long periods of time. We have established threads related to business doctoral degrees. You should read them carefully. Then pick a program and go to the school website and read up on the requirements. The other stuff, accreditation, graduation, language, etc. are easy. People do not frequently recommend unaccredited programs and we don't talk much about programs that are non-English based. So do that homework and then ask a bunch of questions. We'll be here to answer them.

Might be the single nicest response in the history of this board....and spot on, of course.

10a. In lieu of hot professors, all cohort members to be chosen for you by the dating service of your choice.

I'm still trying to figure out how to work in that recent idea of using strippers as recruiters

'Tis the season to be kind after all. All kidding aside; Alex, welcome to this crazy but functional community. And what Kizmet said was spot on.

Yes, the typical "how can I get a PhD in a short period of time, little investment and from a recognized school" comes here quite often. This is similar to the question "how can I win the lottery without a buying a ticket".

The question is why would you want a PhD just for the sake of it? Is it a vanity PhD? I cannot find another reason but vanity when I read this type of posts.

You can legally buy a Doctor of Divinity from Universal life church and legally call your self a doctor for less than $50.

It could be a vanity thing, but there there are a number of more practical reasons someone in this situation might want a doctorate in business. He might want to teach at an institution where he already has a relationship, or to consult, or write a book, or to advance to a top position at a European company, etc.

As for his criteria, they're not all ridiculous. He said, "Doctorate degree in Business or Management (DBA or Doctor of management)" and there are a bunch, that's no problem. He said, "Can be completed in 1-2-3 years ( as fast as possible)". Well, one or two years isn't realistic, but three might be. Most schools we discuss here are accredited, have a graduation ceremony, and have English as the language of instruction.

He didn't even say that cost was a factor, although most people get around to saying that it is, so going with the least expensive regionally accredited U.S. schools that meet his needs, I'd say look at the DBA from either Wilmington University (although apparently they're full until 2016) or Baker College. If money's really not that big an issue there's also the Doctor of Management from University of Maryland University College.

such a warm welcoming for my first post from all of you :) I just skip some comments to read some of them which looks friendly and kind enough to get me back right on track.
After few days of sufing , searching and searching..then I just come back here to get advise from a lot of kind guru again.

    1. I found AIB in Australia which has 2-4 years with accreditation is legally in Australia, Seems like they have all as I need. Unfortunately, AIB ( Australian Institute of Business) is not accept the application right now they will open again in July. I dont want to wait for that long...so looking for another option.

    2. Some of you are right, I may want to have just for the "sake" of it, but it also mean something for me for the social status and recognition. I consider myself now too old for taking a hard challenge in the heavy acedemic research. It took me 4 years for my Master thesis to pass because of the "too" high standard from my previouse University research commitee( sorry.. its in my openion) when I have a chance to read abstract or research of some other university's master thesis I felt it is differrent standard comparing to my university, therefore I dont want to be trapped again in the fancy high acedimic standard university, I just want the thing done in a proper standard way, not in the perfect way.

    3. I consider myself a successful person in building my own business from zero to todays size. I already own a Jewelry Factory and private sattlelite television with over 300 staffs working with me, fews of them holding doctorate level degree a lot of them have Master Degree. Therefore, I will not want my doctorate degree to get any employment from anyone. actually, its for just to entertaining myself, self recognitions and social status only.

    4. You are also right, I may not mind about the course fees, I am able to pay for the fee. My company sales was reported around 50 Million USD last year. But I dont want just to buy the degree ( trust me, I have been approached from some institution for the hornor degree in liu of some donation). I want to do it myself to get some pride but not too hard way. That's why I ask for the accredited, fastest possible ( some of you already answered 2 years minimum) and graduation ceremony is important to me, it's my entertainment and I love celebration !

    5. I am already a guest lecturer in some university for MBA class but I believed they invited me because I am a successful business man, not as an acedemic person. Recently, I am about to hands off my business to the Directors and Managers, I want to retire and become a part time lecturer in the universities. I feel I am old now (47 years old) this is because I have been fighting very hard, extreamly hard in building my business in the past 15 years. I dont want anything too hard anymore.

You dont know me, and I dont know you too. So, I am asking friendly and directly to get some advise from the education experts, not expecting an ironing or insulting. Actually, I am in a good status to insult a lot of people (including some of you) but it was not me, I never felt that way to anyone. Most of openions or question anyone ask me I will listen respectfully and answer friendly.

sorry, my font might not readable in some of your pc, I am using iPad mini it
s also hard to type and it
s 4 oclock in the morning in the country where I live.

Any additional friendly suggestion please do so. Any university or institute which is similar to AIB??

    Warm Regards,

    Alex

There are some other Australian schools that you might consider like Charles Sturt or Southern Queensland. You could even consider a British school like the University of Leicester. These would be "dissertation-only programs" and so theoretically could be completed in 2-3 years.

I heard many stories that it takes students average 5 years to complete a Doctorate degree. I have never heard of anybody could complete the entire degree in 1 or 2 years. Maybe 3 years if you have no life, just study, eat, and sleep.

I completed mine at USQ at took me about 8 years. I think a realistic goal is to do it in 5 to 6 years part time at any of the Australian government schools.
It looks to me like the OP just wants a doctorate for self improvement, AIB is a bottom of the scale in Australia (Private for profit) and the equivalent to UoP in the US but it is part of the Australian Qualification framework so it would do the trick of getting a fast but legal doctorate.

Any of the for profit in the US might do the trick as you might be able to complete in 3 years while you run a business, support a family, take vacations, etc. You can try NorthCentral, Capella, Walden, Trident, University of Phoenix and Colorado Technical University.

Bottom line is that you can get fast but expensive and with little recognition. Things get tricky when people ask for fast, cheap and prestigious. I think you can only pick one of these 3 to be realistic.

A few people have completed my PhD program in 3 years, but the program is on ground and they were working part-time as doctoral assistants. Arizona State University has a Doctoral of Behavioral Health - Management Track that is set up to be completed in 18 months full-time and 3 years part-time. If you check LinkedIn, there are people who actually completed this program in less than 3 years.

The PhD in Leadership from Tennessee Temple could be completed in 3 years if you really push yourself, especially in the dissertation phase. I think 4 years is more realistic, but it has been done in 3.

    RF Valve,

Sorry, but as a student of Walden's Ph.D in Management, I can assure you that he Alex will not be able to complete a Ph.D with that University in 3 years. I don't know why you mentioned Walden, and I'm sure you are not familiar with their course work. Competing a Ph.D with that school is no walk-in-the-park. Don't be fooled by it's relatively easy admission rate. It's easy to be enter, but it's hard to leave. I also suspect that the UOP and Colorado Tech have difficult programs as well.

I understand Alex's desires (I had similar ambitions before I started the program), but there are no short-cuts in completing a Ph.D. in management from an Uiversity that's worth its salt. Actually, one has to work hard as long as that university is regionally accredited. The course work alone is a killer
