Which would you choose? I'm interested in anything from academics to athletics to campus quality to cafeteria food - whatever you can come up with.

(Yes, this is pretty random, I know.)

I prefer Indiana's website over the Nebraska website.

Indiana has the hottest girls too. but what does this have to do, especially the food, with DL?

Nothing. But I am out of ideas for standard measures of comparison. I am looking at two programs that are somewhat different but equally attractive to me. However much I think about it, it's always 50-50. So I am willing to consider other factors that may have nothing to do with DL. I think many distance learners actually consider factors beyond DL.

Let me ask a different way: To you, is there a difference in reputation between the two schools? Indiana is considered a "public ivy" and seems to beat Nebraska in most rankings. Nebraska managed to get kicked out of the AAU (albeit for dubious reasons). But how much difference does this really make in the real-world perception of both schools? Also, Nebraska has five national football championships and a giant fanatic alumni network. That's pretty cool, too, and it may make the school more well-known to most people than Indiana.

Well, don't forget that Indiana has 5 basketball national championships and has a fantastic alumni network as well...

I never heard that before but Wikipedia says so, therefore it must be true.

IU is a Basketball Power, NU is (was) a Football Power.

Other than than unless there is an obscene difference in host go with IU. Once again my refrain on DegreeInfo, follow the money. Unless the program you want is the top of the tops or you want to go Harvard, Yale, Standford, etc. go with the least expensive accredited option. At the end of the day unless you are a serious NCAA sports nut, it does not make much difference.

I think Indiana's logo will look better on a coffee cup.

Bird first attended IU before feeling out of place and dropping out. After some time off, he later enrolled at Indiana State.

    Fascinating.

IU Bloomington does have an "air of snobbery" (based on personal experience visiting the campus once in 1993).

There's a little of that (I'm an IU grad). It's a shame for Bird and IU, because IU was coming off an undefeated championship season in 1976 when he arrived in Bloomington as a freshman in 1977. They probably would have kept on winning, with Bird bridging the gap to Isiah Thomas, who arrived at IU in 1979-1980 and led them to the title as a sophomore in 1981 before turning pro.
