Many distance learning college courses have lectures that are found on iTunes U. For example, the University of New Orleans offers many philosophy courses through distance learning and their lectures are found on iTunes U.

Glad they're aboard! ITunes U. passed the billion-download mark early in 2013. 60% of downloads are outside of US, so it's a World phenom. I've read that some ITunes courses have over 125,000 students enrolled. It's the only way people like me are able to "attend" lectures from Oxford, Harvard, Stanford et al.

YouTube University has far less content, but I like it, too. I believe Yale has a number of courses on ITunes, but they're also available for direct download from a Yale website. I have about a dozen complete Yale courses and there are many more.

The "free" course I got most out of? Many are so good, it's hard to decide. For me, I think it was Harvard Extension's Digital Photography course. Prof. Dan Armendariz is The Man! A close second - Yale's Introduction to Music. I've been playing a bit for around 50 years, so I knew quite a bit of the course content -- but it was SO well-presented! Remarkable quality of instruction!

Thanks for letting us know another really fine school has joined in.
