Arizona State University offers many undergraduate and graduate degrees online. I'm thinking about enrolling and taking some online classes to expand my knowledge in a particular area. I'm not interested in earning a degree. Has anyone here ever taken the online classes at ASU?

Many of the online classes are accelerated classes that cover a semester's worth of material in 7.5 weeks. What is it like taking these accelerated classes? Does it feel like you are cramming most of the time?

Here is a link to their online degree programs: All Online Degree Programs | ASU Online Degree Programs | Arizona State University

I was in ASU (technically i still am), I've taken over 30 credits online with them. Each term has an A B and C sessions. C is the full 15 week session, A is the first 7.5 weeks off the term, and B is the second 7.5 weeks of the term. I normally take 2 classes in A, another 2 in B. So it's 12 credits / term. I did that for the whole year (even through summer) and did more then 30 credits worth from them. Most / alot of the work is assignment based so you really need to be on the ball each week to finish the assignments. Very few classes's final exams were actually worth alot, I'd say they only make up 30% of the grade. As I said, most of it is assignment based, so if you do miss out on some, it will effect your grades. I put aside maybe 1-2hrs a day for 5 days (M-F) to study for ASU, doing 2 classes. I keep weekends off. Still managed to churn out A grades. I like their grading because they give you A+ A and A-. So you can have over a 4.0 GPA with them. Their prices increased recently, it's almost $500/credit hour now. I guess once you get the hang of the 7.5 week format, you won't find it rushing or cramming stuff, it comes naturally.

I graduated from ASU and I loved it. It's a lot of work (no hand holding, high expectations, a big course load) but it's completely doable. You get out what you put in. If you want to coast by with C's, well, then it's pretty easy. If you want A's, then you will have to work hard. But as much as I love my school (and I LOOOOOVE it), it's really pricey for just taking a few classes. There are other schools that are regionally accredited that are cheaper for that kind of thing.

Was hoping ASU came up with more options for their undergraduate programs. Was pinning for a math major. Oh well.

I'm waiting on my acceptance into HES. Hopefully if all goes well, I can do a minor in Math with them.

If not, my back up would be to look into Indiana U's online program in math, it's $290/credit hour. Cheap imo.

APU is $250 per credit, fully online, and regionally accredited. Also, books are included in that price for undergraduate degrees. Something to think about. And there's no relocation required.
