University of Phoenix Founder Dies

    John Sperling, the founder of the University of Phoenix, has died. A news report on this event can be viewed here:

    The article mentions his creation of the Institute for Professional Development; when I lived in the SF Bay area I attended courses offered by this Institute that used professors from local universities including Stanford with the courses being provided under the umbrella of Redlands University.

    Quite a guy. A major (tens of millions of dollars) donor to the causes of marijuana legalization. It'll be interesting to see where his billions go now.
