MS in Applied Intelligence degree.

I don't know if this degree has been discussed or not, however, it looks like a cool degree from a good school.

I looked into this program a few years ago, but I don't think it was completely online at the time. I'm glad I went with a degree in security studies with a concentration in regional security instead. I have some personal experience with the hiring process of one agency, but that is all I will say about that.

Mercyhurst (or maybe it was AMU) students won some intelligence competition, but I generally don't think these degrees are a good option for those who want to start an intelligence career. Intelligence agencies look for people with technical skills or academic knowledge of international relations or a specific region because these things can take years to study in depth. They train people in the basics of intelligence analysis in a matter of months. The rest of the stuff is learned on the job. I'm sure they have some classified methods that cannot be taught in an intelligence program. Intelligence agencies love people with work experience in intelligence, but I don't think a degree program even comes close to replacing that experience. Besides, those working in the field told me those degrees are worthless. That's kind of how I feel about undergraduate degrees in criminal justice. People think they need them to become cops, but become disappointed when they learn that these programs are not like a police academy.
