I know I've asked this question before, but does anyone know anything about the MBA program at Amberton.

I am trying to determine the total cost for the MBA program including books. Admission's was not able to give me an estimated cost including books. I was told to contact the bookstore directly, however I have had no luck getting in touch with them.

I am trying to make a decision between Touro and Amberton. Based on what I have read on the board, Touro is well supported.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    :) :) :)

Amberton is one of the least expensive RA options for an MBA program. There is no way to give an exact cost for books, as each teacher is usually given leeway is choosing texts.

In my experience, the average cost of textbooks for graduate school is about $80-$150 per course, with extremes on both ends once in awhile.

The tuition is $165.00 per for a total of $5940.00 provided that your degree is in business and you do not have to take the prep courses. The $5940.00 does not include the price of books. This isthe cheapest RA MBA program I have found.

I have spoken with admission and they have been very patient in ansewring all the qustions about the program. If you are thinking about an MBA program, it worth looking into.

I believe Lawrie mentioned in a post that they were going to require several of the prep courses for an EC General Business grad.

No, quite the opposite. May be someone else.

I was formally admitted to the MBA Strategic Leadership on the strength of my USNY/Regents (now Excelsior) BS in General Business back in 1999. Turned out at the time though, that the complete degree could not be completed at a distance (not true now - the degree is fully DL).

The Amberton Strategic Leadership MBA requires an undergraduate degree in Business or 12 semester hours of qualifying prep courses, so the Regents/Excelsior General Business degree held up as well as any Business degree in that respect.

At the time, application to Amberton University (then Amber U) was free, and admission was supposed to remain current for a period of 3 years. Called them a while back, gave my SS number, but they could not retrieve my records. Hmm, application fee is now (or was last I looked) $25.

I found contact with Amberton generally efficient, friendly and a bit "homely" a-la-COSC*. Only fault found would be my missing records two or more years on (I never took a course) and some initial difficulty (1999) getting a clear answer on the issue of the MBA's DL status (no longer a problem).

*COSC was the most customer oriented and helpful undergrad assessment institution of the Big Three, pre-enrollment, in my experience, so this comparison is not faint praise.
