Any idea who they are, Russell? It's interesting that they list a number of legitimate schools - e.g. University of California Riverside. And I'm curious what the REAL DETC will do about it. Seems like their name may be a copyright violation.

    Litigation Pending

I spoke with DETC (the real DETC) today. They indicate that they are "aware of them and pursuing litigation now." The bogus guys are really bold.

The real DETC knows about it, and I would guess their lawyers are being galvanized into action.

It is an increasingly common ploy of phonies to link themselves to legitimate operations. If I were starting Hassenpfeffer University, and also the Interworld Accrediting Association, I would have Interworld accredit Harvard, Yale, and Hassenpfeffer.

This is analagous to those bad guys that award their degrees to famous people (who either don't know or don't care), and then list them in the catalogs as alumni. City University Los Angeles did this with Ethel Kennedy and Coretta King, among others. Columbia State U did it with Jonas Salk, among others.
