School set up in London, with accreditor in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a name veeeeeeerrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy similar to the legitimate DETC. Both afforded internet presence by the same provider? Coincidence?

I appeal to someone of the forum to read the verbage that USDETC.org has for list of accredited schools - this seems to border on illegal. http://www.usdetc.org/accredited_schools.htm

    Steven:
Thanks! I've shared this info with the Registrar at Athabasca. We're clearly not going to be protecting the name of our university if we don't do something about being associated (however backhandledly) with the USDETC.

    Darren.

    Hey Darren,
No problem...when I posted, I hadn't noticed a post about USDETC.ORG posted by someone else. Apparently the real DETC is pursuing litigation against this phony entity.

I'm sure Athabasca's name will be removed from their list very soon. :D

    Kindly,
    Steven King

Here in March 2003, USDETC is being investigated by a TV reporter in Nevada; apparently they are still going strong. The address, in Carson City, is "shared" with a fake scholarship finding "service" and with the Diamond Racing Group, which seems to have a connection with GoDaddy.com But the phone number in Carson City is no longer working, which may be an encouraging sign.
