I have an associates in Pharmacy Technology - I work as a Certified Pharmacy Technician - but I need to finish my bachelor's in order to advance/make more money. I've completed 2 years of college which is mostly general education stuff. I want to major in something that complements my career, but I don't have many ideas. My first thought was Biology or Chemistry, but there aren't many online options. A friend mentioned I might want to major in Business, but I'm not sure if that interests me or not. My husband said to do something that interests me - I really like Psychology, Sociology, but it doesn't seem like that would apply to my career.

For reference, most of what I do is data entry, filling prescriptions, and billing/returns.

I'm not in the medical profession, so I don't know if these would help you, but Walden University offers a bachelor's in Nursing and one in Health Management. Capella offers a bachelor's degree in health care management.

Professional degrees tend to be better life choices.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a bachelors I can finish in 2-3 years. If I went for a Pharm D, it would be 2 years of pre-pharmacy classes, then 4-5 years of pharmacy school.

Health care management sounds interesting. I will look into it. I am also looking for something 100% online. Between my kids and my job, I don't have much time in my schedule to go to class.

    How about a BSQA
    Bachelor of Science Quality Assurance

This might fit in with your current job, obtaining a job in the pharma industry, or in and service or industrial business area.

If you plan to stay in healthcare, healthcare administration, business, or public health majors are safe options. Just stay away from the social sciences, liberal arts, and psychology stuff. I see alot of people in healthcare with those degrees which don't translate well, and those people find it difficult to move up into management roles.

I advise, look at the requirements for not this promotion, but the promotion after that. If your unclear, research the bio's of your chief executive staff; CEO/ CAO, VP, CNO, ect . . .
