Anyone know of a 30-credit-hour master's in the humanities/liberal arts areas that will accept 15 semester credit hours as electives?

I should have put "as transfer electives".

    Try APUS:
    Award of Credit - Graduate

My transfer courses would all be in writing and literature, so it looks like APU wouldn't work. But thanks for the tip.

My bachelor's is from there, so I would have preferred another school. I am currently working on an MFA which will take me three years to complete, taking one course per quarter; I currently have completed four courses and just starting my fifth; that means eleven more courses to go after this one. I am seriously considering changing over to something that will take less time, even though it's not a terminal degree.

I believe I read it is one-third of course requirements, in this case 10 hours.

Have you looked at Fort Hays State University?

Does American Military University offer an MA in English? I know they accept up to 15 credits in transfer.

How about Excelsior? I seem to remember reading that they had a generous transfer policy.

You might inquire about the transfer policies of California State University Dominguez Hills. They have a Master of Arts in Humanities with Literature emphasis, which is 30 hoiurs.

APU does have an MA in Humanities. That might work. They also used to (I don't know if they still do) provide a preliminary review of transfer credits for free. You could always try and see what they have to offer.

I guess you have to ask yourself a few questions and find out what your overall goal is... What is your goal for getting a MFA and what would be your goal for getting something else that isn't an MFA? Are you trying to get an advanced degree for a promotion or some pay increase?

Would it be better to simply finish what you started or scrap what you have now and start something that you can finished "sooner"? If you're getting tired of this program, what will make you think that you won't get tired of the next? If time is the issue, can you double up on your courses?

WNMU has a interdisciplinary studies masters degree where you can combine English and Writing.
    Virtual Campus - Online Programs
    Check out their transfer policy.
The cost of their IS Masters can be reasonable cost.

The WNMU catalog says that up to 6 units can be accepted as transfer. But you may be able to negotiate more.
