For all of you computer heads, here is some news if you don't already know about it. Georgia Tech has partnered up with Udacity (popular MOOC) and AT&T to provide an online degree for cheap-7k. Georgia Tech is a great school and 7k is a great price. They are Udacity as the medium to do this particular degree. Fish around the internet, and you'll get some good information about this program. Good luck!!!

Here is a little copied and pasted info about the program:

Online M.S. Degree Program from Georgia Tech

We’re excited to be able to offer the first fully accredited massive online MS in Computer Science from Georgia Tech. Total tuition for the program is initially expected to be below $7,000.

For any questions regarding admissions check out the Georgia Tech info page, the FAQ page or contact the program administrators at [email protected].

I read somewhere, the diploma will read, "Online M.S in Computer Science" as oppose to "M.S in Computer Science"

    >.>

Not sure if anyone can confirm that.

The degree title had been discussed on several forums last year. I remember reading on the FAQs that the degree title would have "online" in it.

If we can debate NA v. RA on a daily bases we can manage a half dozen threads on Georgia Techs innovative program.

You should know that to enter the for credit Masters you are required to have an undergrad in CS...this program isn't exactly designed for the career changer.

BTW...perhaps the FINEST fast food hamburger joint on the planet sits across the street from Georgia Tech in downtown Atlanta. http://www.thevarsity.com/ The Varsity is worth the visit to Atlanta..."What'll ya have what'll ya have, step right up, have your dollar in your hand and your order on your mind" I may need to plan a road trip. :)

Not quite. There is an opening for those without undergraduate CS or related degrees (Emphasis added). I bet my 15 years of Database work, Professional Certifications, and Undergraduate/Graduate level programming classes would allow me to qualify. I already have both a BA and MPA. Like I said, I am just waiting for this to mature a bit more:

Preferred qualifications for admitted OMS CS students are an undergraduate degree in computer science or related field (typically mathematics, computer engineering or electrical engineering) from an accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants who do not meet these criteria will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis; significant professional or other work experience with supporting recommendations may qualify as an adequate substitute for the appropriate academic credentials, however work experience will not take the place of an undergraduate degree.

I did see that, allow me to amend my comment and say significant CS experience and or training is required.
