I am looking for an online or distance program for a PhD in U.S. History. I have a B.A. and M.A. from East Tennessee State University. Are there any out there? I know that a few programs may be in the works. Moving is not an option for me at this point. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
I don't think any US based institution offer Doctorate in History. However, if you look into Australian, British, and South African are plenty; but mainly researched base.
Thank you, TEKMAN! I will research the universities you mentioned. I am just at a point in my life where I can't move at the moment. I mean, even if I have to drive a few days a week, it could be manageable.
University of Florida offers Ph.D with Classical Civilization and Latin and Roman Studies, but I don't think you're looking for those. At some point American Military University plan to offer Doctorate in History.
I was told that it be framed with a history bent. Still Humanities degree, but frame it with history using the Great Books as back drop. Now, this is what i was told. They may find something different.
