grad writing course to transfer into WNMU

Hi: I'm looking for a writing grad course to transfer into WNMU, one that won't break my bank *under $900 maybe?* I couldn't find any at AMU/APU that corresponded with a writing concentration and have been doing quite a bit of digging around. I looked on the creative writing thread and looked into signing up for a certificate in writing and then finishing up that later. I didn't know that the amount of hours was upped to 12. Nice.

 

Why not take one of the WNMU courses - cost is $623.46.

That might be the most mystifying thing I've read on this forum. Why would you chose to transfer in credits to WNMU when they are so cheap there already? Second--and this is important--have you talked with the director of the writing program about transferring in your credits? Just because they allow one to transfer credits doesn't mean they have to and my understanding is that this practice is frowned upon.

 

Actually, WNMU took 6 credits of transfer for my program. Of course, I realized after the fact it was a moot point. I already had a masters, and for a 2nd masters they only require 30 credits, rather than 36.

If you attended the program you should know then that the director of the MAIS program is a different person holding a different position than the director of the writing program, or any of the other directors of the various concentrations. My remark was specifically about the director of the writing program, not a remark about the general ability to transfer any credits into the MAIS program.

 

That's true, but I was simply going by my experience. In the scheme of things, however, I'd agree that transferring credits there is a bit silly since WNMU is rather inexpensive. The only reason I did was because I discovered the program after I had taken a few classes.
