    Hey, all.

We had a server issue a couple of days ago in which the server crashed ungracefully. When it was restored, there was some corruption in one of the database tables that drives the discussion forum.

That was causing random database errors.

We believe we've fixed the problem, but I'd appreciate if anyone sees any weird errors (database errors are pretty obvious; it's an error screen with "We've encountered a problem" and a bunch of tech-speak) that they post here and then report the post (click the little triangle in the corner) to make sure it's brought to our attention.

    Thanks in advance

I knew this wasn't because of my poor reading skills.

This is unacceptable, Chip. If you expect us to continue posting here we must have an uncorrupted server and database. These topics are far too important to be corrupted.

    Just kidding! :)

They weren't random for me. They were 100%, and then they were gone.

Same with me. I started seeing an error with the individual threads, though I could load the titles and forums just fine. Around yesterday, however, I started getting the error anytime I tried to access the site in general.

As long as we're not seeing anything now, that's encouraging. My concern was, the way we did the repair, we didn't test and verify all of the tables, only the one that was problematic.. Most likely, we're fine, but since database corruptions can sometimes take days to appear, I want to make sure everything appears to be in good shape rather than having to revert to a backup that happened before the server crashed.
