Hello, Back to the books here in Ohio and have had previous College credits. Back in early 2000s. Got part of my Business mgnt. Degree done. Heading back and wanting To venture into accounting. Local community college offers Associate degrees in this major and would eventually like to get My bachelors degree also but not offered here at this school. Was wondering how much an associates degree would help Towards my bachelor degree? Or should I jump in and find a 4 year Degree school n start out going towards my bacholor degree?? Thx for info here in Ohio
My brother-in-law completed a great deal of his BS in business at a community college. One thing he has always said was to call the eventual university of your choice and ask them which classes and how many credits from the local community college will transfer to their school (otherwise you'll just be wasting your money). Yes, it definitely can be done. I would caution you though - this same person was "brainwashed" (as I call it) by his business school to believe he'd be making $80 starting after graduation. I tried to tell him that it wasn't accurate, but he didn't believe me. Years later, now that he's been out of school for a while and still has not found an accounting job, he finally believes what I was telling him. Unfortunately, I personally know several people in this boat. Be careful because business school tuition tends to be higher than other degrees and right now, the field appears to be in quite a job crisis... despite what the schools might tell you.
Def know I'm not gonna jump right into a $80 dollar Job. I'm almost 40 and been in retail ( vendor) sales for about 25 Years now. Just want something else in my life a new challenge so To speak. My body is worn dwn and hurting time to use the old noggin A bit n think about my future b4 they replace me bc they Got what they wanted out of me.
