I recieved a letter from TESC today telling me that last week, the 'awarding of my degree' has been "approved," and that I am now an alumnus.

YET, my diploma has not been sent because my official conferral date is March 15. :smashfreakB: So this thread is partly for amusement and partly so that other TESC students know what to expect. In short, your one degree will grant you many opportunities to make "I'm done!" threads so that we can keep on heaping praise on you for the same thing. By my count, you will be "done" with the same degree 6-7 times.

-The day you finish your last credit.
-When your academic evaluation is updated, showing that all your requirements are met.
-When you receive the certification of completion letter in the mail.
-When the Board of Trustees approves the awarding of your degree.
-When your degree is officially conferred.
-When you recieve your diploma in the mail.
-(optional) When you walk for graduation.

All of this, for me, happened one-by-one over the course of six months- minus the walking, which I will skip. It should be shorter for those who find a way to NOT miss the nearest deadline for applying for graduation.

I can't wait to be the donererest :)

Let me be the first DIer to say: CONGRATULATIONS! It must feel amazing to have that behind you.

Now, if I may play reporter for a moment, "What do you plan to do next, Mr. Craniac?"

LOL! I half-expected to get even more congratulations, but thought they would be sarcastic. Maybe I will make another thread tomorrow and again when the diploma comes after all!

By the way- today is 3/14... PI DAY!!!!:banana::banana:

Excuse me while I go celebrate by drinking 3.1415 litres of Caffeine Free Coca-Cola Zero.

    Congrats!

Actually, while grad school was more intense... I swear, my BA required some serious endurance (never mind the fact that I changed majors 3 times). Once you accomplish your BA/BS, you feel like you can do anything.

    Way to go!
