The following article in the Florida Times-Union highlights the proposed expansion of Logos, an unaccredited school in Jacksonville. http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/030802/bus_8817561.html The Logos website is http://www.logos.edu
I always find it suspicious when a school does not mention the credintials of the faculty. I was just currious as to where Logos faculty members were educated. Maybe they did not even go to school? I recently received the catalog from Andersonville Seminary. They do not even mention the names of the faculty, except in courses they they "teach". I find this verrrrrry interesting! Robert
Dear Robert, I was able to locate Andersonville's listing of "faculty" at http://www.andersonvilleseminary.com/faculty.htm. I guess if you offer tapes from known biblical scholars then you are qualified to list them as faculty on your website. Steven King
What in the world am i doing? I just looked up the faculty at Andersonville Seminary. I have never seen that many high quality scholars in one place. I wonder how they can pay these people and still charge so little. I believe all who are looking for a good solid scholar- laden seminary this is the one. In fact i am going to move down to Georgia so i can meet them. What a thrill!!. Welll must Go and Pack Oh yeh and withdraw from ACCS so that i can bask in the presence of real men and women of knowledge.
Re: What in the world am i doing? Come now, Robert. Do I sense a note of sarcasm in your last post? I hear the real estate is quite reasonable near Camilla, GA.
I think it's important to note that this article was written by the Times-Union's business writer. In 199, the Times-Union did a comprehensive article on religious degree mills (including Logos). (Notwithstanding that it heavily featured l'il ol' moi.) You can find that article at this link.
Re: Re: Logos Christian College Update But Steve, isn't this the correct writer--many of these type schools are a business aren't they?
Re: Re: Logos Christian College Update The 1999 article references Jason Baker who then, it says, was in the PhD from Regents in DL. This interfaces interestingly with Dr Dennis Frey's recent defense of Trinity's Seminary (In) who in the context of calling accreditation a misunderstood, overblown "flap"(on Trinity's discussion forum) refers to Baker as a self-styled, self appointed, biased "expert" who has turned his interest into profit. Someone on that forum had, of course, raised the issue of accreditation. When this subject is broached, Trinity brings out its "big guns" for a stuff the ball up your shirt and run around the end play.
Re: Re: Re: Logos Christian College Update Now, why do they do that. I have seen the same attacks on Steve Levicoff. Rather than discuss issues they attack the person (*self-styled expert* seems to be a favorite). If the Trinity students are buying it then they are not doing very well in the analysis department or are deluding themsleves. North
Re: Re: Re: Re: Logos Christian College : OF DOLLARS AND DELUSIONSUpdate Perhaps Trinity officers would thrash and trash Jason Baker for:$$$$$ Some Trinity students simply do not understand the meaning and the value of accreditation. On THAT DAY it will be interesting to see who pays the price, the Deluded or the Deluder. Others knowing Trinity's deficit yet are convinced they need not an accredited degree or that they could not earn one. This pertiferous perpetuation of less than wonderful religious colleges and seminaries warrents a dissertation...a DMin product?
whoops ie, "pestiferous" "bringing disease or infection..rats are 'pestiferous' " (World Book, Ency, Dic)
