I'm MIA a lot because I'm really close to the end and I have to work, work, work. I have horrible senior-itis right now, so motivation is in short supply. That said, I'm still looking at masters degrees. I was going to do a full degree in Communication, but I've come to realize that I have a few varying interests that I want to pursue, and I think a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies might be the way to go. As I've previously mentioned, I have money from an inheritance to get my degree, and if I find later on that I actually need a full degree in a specific subject I can always go back (I'm not adverse to getting more than 1 masters degree). I could really use some help/guidance in selecting a really good degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. My interests are: folklore/mythology, terrorism/counterterrorism, international relations, religious studies (world religions, not just Christianity), political science (focusing on national security, foreign policy, etc), forensics, and communications (focusing on public relations). Do any of you know of any online programs that offer any/all of these, or allow you to COMPLETELY design your own program to suit your needs? So far I've just seen programs with certain options, none of which I really care for. Thanks!!!
I saw this one, but I didn't really care for the offerings. I'm going to look a little closer, though. It looks like I can see which classes are offered when, and maybe I can pick certain classes to take that will work. I have to really look first, though.
I remember you saying this type degree screams "unfocused/could not decide" or something like that. I guess you finally came around. :biglaugh:
I have an idea here, coming from zero experience but just some observation and maybe insight. For academic-types, the idea of getting an MBA may sound like a drag and I can certainly say thay I would have never considered it on day one of my journey. I've noticed in my searches however that MBAs often have very strong social science and analytic components to them and may come with such a variety of possible electives that there just might be something for everybody.
