As of now, @ Penn State World Campus, if I take 18 credits per semester, I will receive my Associate's degree in Arts in Letters, Arts, and Sciences in 2 semesters.

I am pursuing my Associate's degree with Penn State taking 18 credits per semester because in Korea, without a degree, you will not get respect and University reputation is everything. But my career field is in teaching English. So I want to major in Linguistics and also Master in it later.

    Question

    1) Is Penn state World Campus the right choice in this situation? It is $6353 dollars for 18 credits per semester. I heard there are other online universities where I can get my Associate's faster but I do not want to waste my money on a diploma mill college and not get respect in Korea for graduating from an unknown college.

    2) I need Associate's so I can start working while I work on my Bachelor's. It's hard to get a good job in Korea without a degree. So I chose Penn State because it has a good reputation and my credits transfer the most with Arts in Letters, Arts, and Sciences. Is this a good choice?

    3) Is Arts in Letters, Arts, and Sciences a AA or AS, or AAS degree? I know that AA and AS are recommended but not AAS if I want to get Bachelor's later.

    4) Have any recommendations for Bachelor degree in Linguistics?
I found UMASS online. Would my Associate degree be acceptable even though they are two separate degrees? Arts in Letter vs Linguistics? And does my 60 credits from Associate's transfer into 120 credits needed for Bachelor's?

I will be waiting for your replies. Thank you!
