Can I transfer credit FROM TESC/Excelsior to my home regional state university?

Quite simple as that. I live in Kentucky and I attend the University of Louisville. Thomas Edison State College & Excelsior College accept A) FEMA credits B) ALL of the CLEP credits C) All of the Dantes credits.

If I were able to get these on a transcript from TESC or Excelsior, would it be possible to transfer them to my state college with ease, or is that not possible?

Thanks for all the input, and before you ask I did search the forums to no avail

    Thanks everyone!:laugh::wiggle:

probably not but why dont you just ask the University of Louisville? typically schools want original materials from the source not second hand evaluations, so i would say work with the school you actually want to go to

You will have to have your CLEP and DANTES transcripts sent directly to the University of Louisville for an evaluation. Having them transcribed on a TESC/Excelsior transcript and then forwarded to UoL probably won't work. You can look up the CLEP/DANTES exams the school will give you credit for right on their web site. Here are the CLEP exams they accept for college credit:

    and for DANTES exams:

    In a word, no.

Schools don't normally accept credits from a school that accepted them as transfer. They'll instead evaluate the credits from the original sources. Looking back, I used credits from the following sources to do my degrees at USNY Regents, the public predecessor of Excelsior:

Community College of the Air Force
    Middlesex Community College
    Northeastern University
    Western New England College
    AP Exams
    CLEP exams
    DANTES exams
    GRE exams
Undergraduate Program Field tests (also ETS, now defunct)
    NY Regents exams

Results: an AA, B.S., and B.A. in 21 months at the age of 20. Haven't done anything since, of course. Oh, well.

The idea is to consolidate them all at a program like Excelsior, not to take them somewhere else after that!

If you TAKE A CLASS from TESC/EC then you're likely going to get that to transfer. What you are attempting to do is launder third party credit, and as stated, you can't do that.

Maybe get your associate degree first...

Sometimes if you have an AA or AS degree you can get blanket acceptance of your first two years of college and come in as a junior.

For sure I wouldn't get an entire degree BEFORE checking. Info available online folks, the internet is a great thing.
