    Not to be humorless, but under "write" is technical writing, which a friend of mine with an MA in Philosophy does. He's moving into software development, though, and says his previous study of logic actually helps with that.

    While I am of the opinion that once you ask the question (or question is asked) "what are you going to do with that" the chosen course of studies ceases to be education and becomes vocational training, the reality of the world in which we live the majority of the world equates education with vocation. The study of philosophy is not unfruitful (regardless of what a lot of people who frown upon the humanities say) however, we do live in a world where we trade marketable skills from monetary compensation. I would say if you do study philosophy put it with something "marketable" (mathematics, comp sci, business, etc.).
