Hello. I was wondering if anyone knew of any reasonably priced fisheries and wildlife classes online at the undergraduate or graduate level. I am looking for classes similar to: Wildlife Management Natural Resources Management Wetland Ecology Wetland Restoration Environmental Policy and Law Botany Plant Taxonomy Aquatic Biodiversity Wildlife Conservation Fisheries Management I think you get the idea of the type of classes I am looking for. I tried the Natural Resources Distance Learning Consortium but their site is either down or gone. I also checked out APU and they seem to have the most reasonable prices so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! - Aaron
Try Oregon State's ecampus. Fisheries & Wildlife -- Undergraduate Degrees Online -- Online & Distance Degrees -- Oregon State University Ecampus -- OSU Extended Campus
Oregon State has a highly regarded online BS program in Fisheries & Wildlife Sciences: Edit: Looks like someone just beat me to it.
Oregon State University also has other related undergraduate programs, and at the graduate level, a Professional Science Master's in Fisheries and Wildlife Administration and related graduate programs. Toward the fisheries side, you might look at courses form Nova Southeastern University's MS in Marine and Coastal Studies and MS in Coastal Zone Management, and the University of West Florida's BA in Maritime Studies.
There are several relevant courses – Principles of Fisheries Management, Limnology, Game Management, etc. – within the MS in Administrative Studies option in Environmental Management from Missouri State University. More generally, there are quite a few environmental management/environmental studies programs online or in blended form.
University of Alaska should cover most, if not all, your areas of interest: University of Alaska Distance Learning Courses
Thank you guys for all the responses. Which college would be most affordable? Is anyone aware of any CCs that offer the aforementioned classes? American Public University's undergrad classes are $750 for a 3 credit class, is there anything more affordable? Thank you all again, - Aaron
